Worked with someone via email back and forth named Kamealia who claimed the information was removed. When I go to Bing and type in my number, my number still appears.

This person Kamealia claims it has been removed. When I asked for an explanation I got no response. They even had to nerve to follow up with a generic email asking if I was satisfied with their service. I have yet to hear back from them and I'm sure they will not respond.

What is the next step to file a complaint, the Better Business Bureau or are they not regulated. My number is non published and also on the Do Not Call list.

I get so many solicitation calls I had to go out and buy a call blocker. Any feedback is appreciated as Kamealia was of no help.

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

Preferred solution: Want phone number removed so it does not appear when doing a search whether it be Google or Bing!.

Whitepages Cons: Terrible customer service.

Location: 1301 5th Ave #1600, Seattle, WA 98101, USA

So they initially replied with this long response:

Thank you for contacting Whitepages Customer Care, my name is Kamealia. I wanted to follow up with information regarding the listing you reported.

I certainly want to respect your request for privacy, and I wanted to offer a deeper explanation on the information we display with phone listings.

When a reverse phone search is done on a listing that has been removed, we will not display any identifying information for the owner of that phone number.

In these cases we will only display the following 3 pieces of information:

โ€ข Phone Type (Landline or Mobile)

โ€ข Spam/ Fraud Potential โ€ข Registered Location The phone type and registered location correspond to the first 6 digits of the phone number, and are not connected to any owner. For example, if you were to move to a new state and keep the same number, the area code of your phone number would still correspond to the original location in which the phone was purchased. These results will still display even in cases in which the phone number does not exist or has been removed from our services. It is only the last 4 digits of a phone number that correspond to its owner.

You can test this yourself by performing a search using the first 6 digits of the phone number that has been removed, and changing the last four digits to a non-existent phone number. The results will be exactly the same. If you do see any identifying information associated with the phone number like a name, age or an address, please send us a screenshot or the URL for the listing so that we can see what you are seeing.

If you do see any identifying information associated with the phone number like a name, age or an address, please send us a screenshot or the URL for the listing so that we can see what you are seeing. Alternatively, we have set up a self-service so that you can remove a listing yourself, linked here: https://support.whitepages.com/hc/en-us/articles/115010****08-How-do-I-edit-or-remove-a-personal-listing-.
